Credit Cards I used to Re-Build Credit

I have gone through the process of having to rebuild credit, so if you’re looking to do the same I’ve been in your shoes.

It’s painful, but lucky for you I’ve already done it. These are the actual cards I used to rebuild my credit and here’s why:

The way I started was getting the Journey Student Credit Card.

Journey Card

I had already damaged my credit, and had been turned down from even getting a Macy’s Card. So I had to choose my next card wisely.

I chose Journey because of three main factors:

  1. It didn’t require a high credit score according to reviews
  2. It would automatically give your a higher credit line after the first 5 months of paying on time.
  3. No Annual Fee

I knew one of the ways credit was determined is having a higher credit limit.

Once I used that card for a year I watched my credit score rise until I felt it was time to get another card.

I chose the Quicksilver Card for a few reasons:

  1. It was a Capital One card just like Journey, so I figured they would have my previous good record available.
  2. No Annual Fee
  3. 0% Annual APR for 9 Months

This is important because you can learn to use these to your advantage later.

I’m not saying this method is perfect, but I used it and it’s worked for me.
